Dear clients and friends,

For your information the following protocols were put in place as and when they were required.

With advice from the government I am now cleared to open my clinic. Appropriate measures are being out into place to provide as safe an environment as possible for clients and myself. The changes of procedure are aimed at mitigating the risk of cross infection, but these do not eliminate it. Those of you who are classed as ‘shielded’ are more vulnerable with respect to contacting the virus. Patients over seventy, those with pre-existing conditions, and pregnant women with other health issues are also more at risk than the general population. Many patients aged seventy and over can be absolutely fit and healthy and not everybody in this group has a chronic health condition, but unfortunately as one gets older, there is a higher risk of coronavirus having a more serious impact.

If you would like to discuss these issues please do get in touch with me. I am aiming to adapt my practice as necessary and a home visit for example may be an option for those feeling more vulnerable.

I will call clients over the phone to check for possible symptoms of coronavirus; a high temperature, a loss or change in your normal taste or smell, or a continuous cough. If you or a member of your household have any of these symptoms stay at home, self-isolate, and re-schedule your appointment.

I will be making some changes my routine, as follows:

In my home clinic

Social distancing will be observed and visors used as necessary.
Appointments will be spaced to allow for cleaning and disinfection between clients.
Clients are asked to restrict touching surfaces to a minimum, including the front door.
On arrival clients will text me and I will let them in.
Public transport should be avoided if at all possible.
Clients will sanitize their hand on entry using the gel provided.
Clients should arrive in appropriate clothing to avoid having to get changed.
During the treatment I will wear appropriate PPE and avoid working face-to-face or touching the client's face.
Bathroom facilities will have paper towels.
Payment will be made by electronic transfer or cash placed in a prepared envelope.
Clients are requested not to touch their phones whilst in the clinic.
Re-booking can be made by phone, text or email after the session.
Clients are advice to sanitize their hand before they leave the clinic.

If you would like to wear a mask please bring one with you.

Please familiarise yourself with these new procedures before attending your appointment.

For a home visit

I will not travel by public transport.
I will sanitise the steering wheel and gear stick of my car before I travel.
I will text the client on arrival outside the house so they can let me in.
Social distancing will be observed and visors used as necessary.
During the treatment I will wear appropriate PPE and avoid working face-to-face or touching the client's face.
The client must provide a clean area in which the treatment can take place.
Myself and the client must wash or sanitise our hands at the beginning and at the end of the treatment.
The client must provide their own face mask if they would like to wear one during the session.
If any blankets/cushions belonging to the client have been used during the session, these must be bagged up and quarantined for 72 hours or washed at 60 degrees centigrade following the treatment.
Any mats/coverings that I provide will have been freshly washed.
I will restrict touching surfaces in the client's home to a minimum.
Payment will be made by electronic transfer or cash placed in a prepared envelope provided by me.
Re-booking can be made by phone, text or email after the session.
